Building Community Online

During our traditional GT summer program, Tuesdays and Thursdays were community day. This was a time for our students to come together in a general assembly setting and share laughs, reconnect with friends, and have lots of fun. When planning for our virtual academy, we knew that this sense of community would be just as important online, if not more, than in a traditional setting.

Our team created a plan that spanned the entire length of our program (6-week). This allowed us to get creative and incorporated new technology to ensure that we were able to host the competitions that our students love so much.

This final guide provides some helpful tips for creating a strong community online.
